ZSFG Route Diagrams

“It’s tedious but necessary. They’ve got to be able to see the routes and destinations, a simple table won’t do it.”

-Project coordinator

The complicated thing is to make the complex seem simple. With all of the destinations, and all of the ways to get from point A to point B, the web of routes and decision points made the client’s eyes cross.

With such a large organization, and so much institutional knowledge we needed to a way get to an approval and the traditional ways just didn’t do it. By making the routes actual lines on the maps they could evaluate their space and give us the exact nomenclature, the approved routes, and the ability to update everything when COVID-19 struck.

In the end the PDF I created to clarify the routes became a tool for exterior and interior wayfinding throughout the physical and digital installation.
